All over Nigeria media space, it is now very clear to all that the Igbo people and their investments located outside ala Igbo are major targets of seemingly state sponsored ethnic bigots and their recruits like Lagospedia handler.
It is no longer a thing to be argued about as the likes of former president Muhammadu Buhari and our present Commander in Chief, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu through one of his aides in the person of Mr. Bayo Onanuga, have consistently reiterated in very clear terms that the Igbo people are “lesser humans” and deserving of lesser honor and respect in the Nigerian State when compared to their brothers and sisters from Yoruba and Hausa tribes, through their actions and utterances against this routinely profiled ethnic group – Ndi Igbo…
The continued detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a man I never supported his approach to the emancipation struggle, which unfortunately radicalized some of our youths speaks volume of how unfair Nigeria is to anyone with an Igbo identity.
My criticism of his approach as can be seen on my wall notwithstanding, i cannot come to terms with why there is flagrant disregard for the several court rulings for his release by the Nigerian state. This further shows that we Igbos are not equal stakeholders in the Nigerian State.
The Southeastern people ( People from Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra States) assume and are convinced within themselves although there may not be much proof yet to substantiate the claim, that a certain Governor was foisted on a Southeastern state to make the destabilization of the region by the “state”, an easy task with the aim of making the region unattractive for investments while most businesses cited here in the region are routinely being relocated from the region.

These Southeastern Governors relative inability to confront this insecurity monster in the region squarely and collectively is enough motivation for ndị Igbo to massively take to the streets to protest against our Governors since they seem to have no solution to our myriads of economic and socio-political problems.
Have you ever sat down to take stock of how insecurity have made our land a desolate one? Ala Igbo is being destroyed every day of our existence by criminals.
Just maybe a little of this engagement with these Governors in the region, would make them get up and do the needful.
Unfortunately, these Governors who often have majority of their investments established in Lagos, Abuja and overseas with almost nothing to show in the Southeastern region for their humongous wealth, may not be too worried about this insecurity yet.
Do you still wonder why they don’t get so worried about the level of deaths in the region as caused by insecurity?

How many of our Southeastern Governors are based in the region just as Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is based in Ogun State? What we have in most cases are leaders who visit us from time to time and then take flight by night back to their bases which are often not the southeast.
Then as a result of these reservations shared, it would be wrong to wait for these Governors to realize that they are jeopardizing our collective future, as they relatively have nothing at stake here in the Southeast and as such can afford to just talk without actions.
We southeasterners must realize that there is no place like home and if we must get these Governors to do their work, we must unleash every armour in our civil coercion arsenal to get these men to do their work, without setting the region ablaze while at it.
The heat of hatred on the Igbos from all over Nigeria, demands that we start acting in our own best interest. This we must partly do by holding the folks in power accountable.

No one would develop ala Igbo for us, except we the indigenes of the Southeast. Special mention must be made of Evangelist Ebuka Obi for relocating Zion Ministries Headquarters to Ngor Okpala. This must be commended, and we must be deliberate to support him and not attack him unnecessarily.
Another worthy Igbo son based in the United States of America who is deliberately driving an Igbo centric agenda is Chief Akaoma Jide Aku na Enugu State. He is Mr. Gauis Chibueze and popularly known as Bitcoin Chief on all social media platforms.
He is the brain behind East Side Ventures which comprises of Voice of the East Media – one of the most influential Nigerian media platforms with massive followership on all social media platforms, Kedu Mobile App, Ohaneze Farms, Oganiru Homes and Tech City Africa as its subsidiaries.
What Eke O Ako is doing for Abia State on a pro bono basis, is an engagement I strongly advocate for. Such pattern of engagment with some minimal modifications should be replicated across other Southeastern States by the indigene of those States who have the sophistry, resources and expertise, as that would be the only way to get the region to work.

We must force and coerce our political leaders across board to act in the interest of the region. The pressure must be consistently piled on them such that when the heat of criticism and demand for transparency and accountability gets much on them, they would be forced to do the needful and for those ones beyond their scope of influence, they would have no other option than to run to Abuja to make clear demands from the Presidency on our behalf.
Unfortunately most of our governors seem too relaxed to drive the development of the region at this moment.
When your street where you live or do business is always under serious attack from criminals, nobody would advise you to show up when a meeting is called to protect the street from assailants but if the street is not yours and if you have no business on the street being attacked, there is a sense in which you would always not be available for the meeting.

The street being talked about here is Southeastern Nigeria, which is under attack by criminals, the tenants here are you and I, the natives. We must stand up and fight for our land now that we still have breath in us. This we can do by holding our leaders accountable.
The time to push our Governors and all political office holders down to political appointees from the region to do the work we have saddled them with is, now. The day we collectively stand up to demand excellence in performance of duty from these political office holders, that would be the day we would become better.
Finally, the day would come when these youths that they refuse to create employment opportunities for would confront them and their convoys with high end ammunitions, if these political leaders do not act now and develop the region.
Remember that if it gets to Moscow, it will definitely hit Ukraine.

I love your article and can’t agree less. However, we must confront our common enemies, the governors, if we must build a prosperous region
There is no alternative to this at all as we must rise up to do the needful.
